Skin antisepsis is one of the most important standards for infection prevention. Product description: Colorless alcohol-based skin antiseptic for use prior to invasive procedures. The product is particularly suitable when no coloring of the disinfected skin area is desired and a very rapid onset of action is required, e.g. before injections and blood sampling (contact time: 15 seconds). Ready for immediate use, as it is supplied ready-to-use. Good skin tolerance even with frequent application. Always ready for use. A special spray pump allows spraying in any position.

Instructions for use: • Apply kodan® undiluted • Spray onto the relevant skin area or alternatively apply with a soaked swab • Ensure complete wetting of the skin • Observe contact times according to the area of application

Composition: 100 g solution contains: Active ingredients: 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.) 45.0 g, 1-propanol (Ph.Eur.) 10.0 g, biphenyl-2-ol 0.20 g. Other ingredients: hydrogen peroxide solution 30% (Ph.Eur), purified water.

Areas of application: Skin disinfection before surgical procedures, catheterizations, blood and cerebrospinal fluid sampling, injections, punctures, excisions, cannulations, biopsies, etc. For wound closure care. For hygienic hand disinfection. To support general hygienic measures in the prevention of fungal skin infections. The active ingredients 2-propanol, 1-propanol and biphenyl-2-ol are effective against bacteria (including mycobacteria), fungi and many viruses. The efficacy of kodan Tincture Forte colorless against viruses includes enveloped viruses* (classification “limited virucidal”).

Contraindications: Do not use for surgical hand disinfection. Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or other components.

Side effects: Skin irritation such as redness, burning and dryness may occur, especially with frequent use. In rare cases, allergic contact reactions are possible. If you notice any side effects not listed here, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and precautions for use: For external use only. Do not bring into contact with open flames or switched-on electrical heating sources. Allow kodan® Tincture Forte colorless to dry before applying dressings. Only use thermal cautery once the disinfected skin areas have dried. In case of accidental eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for several minutes while keeping the eyelids open. kodan® Tincture Forte colorless should not be used on newborns or premature infants. *Tested against BVDV (surrogate virus for hepatitis C virus) and vaccinia virus.
